Exhibition Opening – Thursday, 10am-9pm – The Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University presents “Southern Accent: Seeking the American South in Contemporary Art.” More than 60 artists have contributed work that portrays the complex nature of the South by examining its social, political and cultural landscape. Artist Talk, Opening Exhibit and Book Signing – Thursday, 4-6pm – Dr. Richard “Duke” Hagerty was in his second year of medical school at Duke University when he realized his passion of expressing his personal thoughts through artwork. Fast forward more than 40 years later and view his exhibition at Duke University Hospital until October 31.
