14th Annual Women’s Forum: “Celebrating Women’s History Month” – Thursday, 6-7:30pm – Share stories, ask questions and celebrate womanhood at this City Hall gathering led by four notable Durham women – Dr. Haiyan Gao, Phyllis D. Coley, Jes Averhart and Heather Beard.

Alex Villar – Thursday, 6-7:30pm – Laugh and become inspired by Brazilian artist Alex Villar’s take on “the hidden sites of power and spaces of survival in contemporary life,” hosted by the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University.

21c Museum Hotel presents OFF-SPRING New Generations – Thursday, 6-8pm – This exploration of 21st-century rituals features works by emerging as well as acclaimed artists from around the world. The evening will begin with a reception and featured artist lecture by Angela Ellsworth at 6:30pm.

Dramatic Reading: The Bacchae – Thursday, 6-8pm – The Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University hosts a free dramatic reading of Euripides’ ancient Greek tragedy – which inspired Elliott Hundley’s work on view in A Material Legacy – followed by an expert-led discussion.

Beer, Banjo and Books – Thursday, 7pm – Need we say more? Enjoy banjo player Jeremy Marcotte‘s music and refreshments at The Regulator Bookshop in honor of author Laurent Dubois’ new book, “The Banjo: America’s African Instrument.”

Bull City Blues – Thursday and Friday, 8pm – The genre of long-form improv is taken to the extreme in Common Ground Theatre’s new show, spoofing on police procedures and the battle between good and evil.

Duke Performances presents Conrad Tao – Friday, 8pm – Prepare to be amazed by this “ferociously talented” 21-year-old pianist as he plays a program of old favorites and new discoveries, including excerpts from North American Ballads contemporary composer Frederic Rzewski as well as Cage, a new commission from Pulitzer Prize winning composer David Lang, followed by Schumann’s Carnaval.

PANIC! Live Improv – Friday, 8pm – Anything goes at this experimental evening of improvised music, dance and writing at The Carrack Modern Art. And it’s free!

Slow Art Tour: “The Harrowing of Hell” – Saturday, 11am-noon – No rush! Slow down at the Nasher Museum of Art and take in a free, expert-led discussion on the anonymous 16th-century German painting, “The Harrowing of Hell.”

Diali Cissokho & Kaira Ba with Muningu – Saturday, 8:30pm – Motorco Music Hall brings the beats with an evening of Congolese and West African-inspired musical flavor.
