Each week, we share – through pictures – what the folks behind Durham Mag have been doing around town. We’re always out and about, just because we love this place; we hope you’ll comment with what you’ve been doing, too!
Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club
Don’t you hate those lunchtime salads that leave you hungry an hour later? Yeah, you won’t find those at Washington Duke.
Oval Park Grille
Oval Park Grille is committed to providing the freshest local ingredients around. This Spanish Mackerel was brought up from the coast the very day it landed on this plate, roasted, with marinated heirloom tomatoes and a radish greens-pumpkin seed pesto.
Oval Park Grille
This is the mother of all cheese plates. The gooey, creamy cheese comes from Boxcarr up in Cedar Grove, a combination of cow’s milk and goat’s milk, and is paired with local honey and Italian plums that Chef Todd Whitney picked up at the Raleigh farmers’ market.
DPAC
VP of Content Andrea Griffith Cash went to see The Temptations (pictured) and The Four Tops at DPAC on Saturday. They still got it!
Mateo
Before heading to DPAC, Andrea enjoyed the scallop/chorizo succotash special at Mateo and washed it down with a nice rosé.
Bar Virgile
Sure, you think of cocktails when you think of Bar Virgile, but have you had their German chocolate cake? On point!
Monuts + Joe Van Gogh
Up early on a Saturday morning, Assistant Editor Jessica Stringer made a Monuts (that’s the PB&J made with Big Spoon Roasters peanut butter) and Joe Van Gogh run!
Garden Party
Andrea attended a Book Harvest Garden Party fundraiser in an unbelievably gorgeous Durham backyard!
