The first Shop for a Purpose Fashion Truck Rodeo at Durham Central Park provided a place for vendors to connect with local fashion lovers, all while supporting a good cause. Shop for a Purpose – benefiting Welcome Baby, a nonprofit that provides parenting education and support for families with young children – is the brainchild of Bria Davenport, a Durham-based personal stylist who owns Honeybbuzz.com, which aims to empower career-driven women to find their own distinctive style. The event hosted a variety of booths, offering custom cupcakes from Butterflies Bakery, vintage fashion finds from The Bazaar Shop (housed in a renovated school bus!) and more. Shop for a Purpose raised more than ten packs of diapers, as well as onesies and other newborn necessities for Welcome Baby.
