Durham DistilleryWe hosted a party for a few incredible women in our community this week at Durham Distillery. Beyond the inspirational conversation, it was such a treat to learn about the distilling process and taste the end result! MyntWe wish we could put together outfits like Mynt.

Cookery Snap PEa UndergroundExecutive Editor Amanda MacLaren joined in the first Supper Club at The Cookery, a new, intimate dinner series intended to bring local eaters and chefs together for a community conversation revolving around food. This five-course dinner featured dishes by Jacob Boehm of Snap Pea Underground & Catering, who utilized produce from several local farms. Hillsborough’s Ever Laughter Farm provided the ingredients for this dish, including heirloom tomatoes, Mexican sour gherkins, papalo, jalapeños and marigolds. Mark your calendars for the next supper club, Tues. Aug. 23!

NC Gay & Lesbian FestivalN.C. Gay and Lesbian Film Festival is just around the corner! We were reminded to start planning which films we’ll be seeing at The Carolina Theatre‘s 21st annual event when we stopped by Dain’s Place for a beer.
