We were thrilled to be at Newsies’ opening night to witness DPAC welcome its 3 millionth guest, Erin Andrews!
At dinner at Tandoor, Chapel Hill’s Executive Editor Jessica Stringer and friends ordered sag paneer, chicken tikka masala and plenty of garlic naan.
We sought out the Mama’s Hot Chicken food truck and found it parked outside Social. Our reward: fries, pickles and crispy fried chicken.
When you can’t decide between the fried green tomato and “The Greek” burgers at OnlyBurger, grab sliders of both!
These house-infused pineapple and pepper margaritas at Harvest 18 are the bomb! Grab one while you can because they’re seasonal.
Hot pups – like Edward here – can find respite at Locopops in the form of pup pops! And, a portion of all proceeds go to the Animal Protection Society of Durham!
After seeing “Suicide Kale” at the N.C. Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, Executive Editor Amanda MacLaren felt in the mood for something green. The Green Room cocktail at The Durham Hotel might have been stretching it, but it hit the spot!
Those cocktails are made even better with this impressive, cloudy sunset on The Roof.
Till next year, NCGLFF!
Fullsteam beers – a Rocket Science and Summer Basil, to be exact – on a steamy day. The child in the background was making good use of the industrial fan!
One day, Amanda will finish her entire shio ramen bowl at Dashi. But today was not that day. (Yay, leftovers for lunch!)
The ideal boozy brunch: Benedict Florentine with thick-cut house bacon, tomatoes and arugula and $5 Bloody Marys at Alivia’s. (Seriously, that bacon is on point!)
Pre-Bulls game calls for sushi from Basan! With game-day tickets, you get one specialty roll half-off when you order your first roll. (And for DPAC patrons, bring in your tickets to that day’s show for 10% off your food purchase).
Gonna miss these bright lights and boys of summer. The last few games are over the next week!
The final Saturday night fireworks at the DBAP was something spectacular!
For when you’re trying to eat “light,” the grilled chicken sandwich at Dain’s Place always hits the spot – especially when you load it down with pepperjack cheese, onions, guacamole and pickles!
