Mynt, a contemporary women’s boutique, is set to open in the Rockwood Shopping Center this fall.

Owner and operator Whitney Sandor hopes Durham women will delight in this specialty shop of high fashion brands, including Tory Burch, Shoshanna, Citizens of Humanity, J Brand, Vince, Rebecca Taylor, Parker, Amanda Uprichard and others.

Whitney opened the first Mynt in Elon 11 years ago because she thought the community lacked a boutique with an inviting environment. She feels grateful to now open another shop in a city where she planted her roots more than 10 years.

Mynt offers personal shoppers, consulting and styling opportunities to further enhance their client’s shopping experience. “We specialize in curated pieces for our customers,” Whitney says. “Basically we are really customer specific [and] we like to cater and evolve to our customer base as far as what we carry.

“We’ll focus on having something for every type of boutique shopper,” she continues. “The high school student needing a dress or back-to-school clothes, the college girl looking for something more grown up or for her functions; the working, single woman wanting an outfit to go from day to night; the mom needing a casual outfit that’s not leggings and workout gear, but still functional to wear with her kids in tow; the 40-, 50-, 60-somethings that have similar needs but can dress for what is going on in their lives.”

Mynt is set to open September 1, followed by a grand opening party tentatively scheduled for September 18 with food provided by Durham Catering Company and wine by Wine Authorities.
