At this point, it’s a cliché: This year has been a downer. A drag. Worthy of a do-over.
So Inspire MEdia Network – the Durham nonprofit that focuses on kindness and empathy – is winding down 2016 by focusing on the good, as per usual.
On Thursday, Dec. 22 at 6pm, Inspire Media is hosting its BIGG (Big Idea for the Greater Good) Holiday Mashup at The Carolina Theatre. Tickets are $8-$14.
This is a fun and family-friendly variety show featuring New Orleans-style band the Bulltown Strutters, the Durham Ukulele Orchestra, Barriskill Dance Theatre dancers, gospel singer Mary D. Williams, storytelling from The Monti, the Durham Bulls’ on-field announcer Jatovi McDuffie and a cappella singers. And there may be a special visitor on hand for the finale.
You’ve made your list and checked it twice. Come out for 90 minutes of pure joy – and if you think of it, wear your holiday sweater, jingle bell earrings and/or Santa hat.
Get there early for a winter-themed photo booth. And expect to hear about what Inspire Media has in store in 2017 – all part of the grand plan to make Durham the world’s epicenter of kindness.
Tickets are on sale now. And be sure to invite your friends via Facebook.
