The Full Frame Documentary Film Festival announced its 2016 Award Winners at an Awards Barbecue at The Durham Armory on Sunday. Filmmakers, film connoisseurs and aspiring documentarians gathered to celebrate the best directors and their work. A qualifying event for consideration for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Subject, the 19th annual Full Frame is an opportunity for filmmakers to share their work with the community and have it recognized by professionals in the industry.
The program of films eligible for judging by audience and jury members included 49 titles, 32 features and 17 shorts, chosen from more than 1,800 submissions. Next year’s Full Frame will celebrate its 20th festival April 6-9, 2017.
