Heartthrob alert! Sawyer is a big, goofy guy who is not camera shy and will never say no to a big “cheese!” Toss him a ball or toy and he’ll be your loyal companion for days. He likes to hop up on things to explore, and wouldn’t pass up on the opportunity to help clean your counters. Treats, gentle affection and playtime are some of his faves. Sawyer does well romping in the Animal Protection Society of Durham play yard with other dogs or flying solo. He may do best with other dogs similar in size as he’s still figuring out just how big he is. Sawyer will need some help with his manners, but he’s eager to learn. Visit Sawyer’s webpage to learn more and come see him at APS today!

The Animal Protection Society of Durham, located at 2117 E. Club Blvd., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been helping animals in the community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990. In addition to county funding, APS relies on donations from individuals and corporations to feed, shelter and provide medical attention for the nearly 7,000 stray, surrendered and abused animals it cares for each year. APS of Durham is open to the public for adoptions and animal visitations. To set up a virtual visit or to adopt, send adoption forms to adopt@apsofdurham.org. Same-day adoptions are now available in the shelter. For more information, email adopt@apsofdurham.org.
