Meet Henderson! He’s an active boy and a good learner who was rescued from western North Carolina (hence the name). He already knows sit, paw and other paw. He can be anxious or jumpy and stressed but is also excited just to be here. Henderson likes treats, exploring, exercise and working on his vertical. He’ll need calming exercises, lots of activity and enrichment and an experienced/dog-savvy owner (or someone willing to learn in a hurry). Visit Henderson’s webpage to learn more and come visit this sweet boy at the Animal Protection Society of Durham today!
The Animal Protection Society of Durham, located at 2117 E. Club Blvd., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been helping animals in the community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990. In addition to county funding, APS relies on donations from individuals and corporations to feed, shelter and provide medical attention for the nearly 7,000 stray, surrendered and abused animals it cares for each year. APS of Durham is open to the public for adoptions and animal visitations. To set up a virtual visit or to adopt, send adoption forms to adopt@apsofdurham.org. Same-day adoptions are now available in the shelter. For more information, email adopt@apsofdurham.org.
