Dark Mint Saison Release – 4-9pm – Durty Bull Brewing releases their new beer in their  tasting room. Grab dinner from Mama’s Hot Chicken while you’re there!

Adult Studio at Nasher – Thursday, 5:30-8pm – Drop by for this creative workshop at Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University. Grab a drink at the cash bar and join local artist William Paul Thomas to create something spectacular.

Music in the Courtyard – Thursday, 6:30-9:30pm – Join Catie King in Parizade‘s outdoor courtyard for an acoustic pop performance.

Back Porch Music on the Lawn – Thursday, 7pm – Bring your best friend or even your furry friend to hear The Stray Birds with Sarah Shook & The Disarmers at American Tobacco Campus’ Amphitheater. Hear country rhythm blend with punk rock to create a soulful performance that is one-of-a-kind.

Russell Favret Trio – Thursday, 7-9pm – Beyu Caffé presents the Russell Favret Trio, an eclectic music group that with this blends jazz with the influences of rock and hip-hop.

“Rocky Horror Picture Show” – Thursday, 7:30pm – The last installment of the Movies on The Plaza at Northgate Mall. Grab some light blankets and chairs and head to the mall early to get good seats and relax with a beer or wine from Bull City Burger and Brewery.

The Draw – Thursday, 7:30pm – Come out for a gathering of artistic minds at The Carrack with Durham artist Tedd Anderson. Draw, drink and discuss throughout the night.

Footprints with Vanessa Voskuil – Thursday and Friday, 7pm; Saturday, 4pm and 6pm – American Dance Festival presents this performance from Vanessa Voskuil that defines human behavior in movement. This performance in Sarah P. Duke Gardens creates a visual masterpiece with bold strokes and sensitivity through dance.

Dinner & Dance – Friday, 5:30pm – Parizade hosts a decadent three-course dining experience and provides tickets to the Paul Taylor Dance Company performance at Durham Performing Arts Center later in the evening.

Warehouse Blues Series – Friday, 5:30-7:30pm – Experience the last selection of the 13th annual Warehouse Blues Series, featuring Samantha Fish at the pavilion of Durham Central Park. Her latest album, “Wild Heart” displays her rich sound and commitment to the heart of blues. Join this celebration of strong women performers, local food and fare, dance, music and much more

Artists’ Talk – Friday, 6pm – Artists Seth Ellis and Chris Cassidy speak on the last day of their exhibition, “Placeholders,” at The Carrack. This series of installments is based off objects crowd-sourced and site specific to the Golden Belt and Durham Hosiery Mill plants and villages.

Paul Taylor Dance Company – Friday, 8pm, and Saturday, 7pm – Close out the American Dance Festival Durham season with the prestigious Paul Taylor Dance Company and their performance of “Promethean Fire” as well as three other works – “Images,” “Profiles” and “Snow White” – at Durham Performing Arts Center. 

Thunderdome Showdown – Friday, 8pm – Coming to the Common Ground Theatre is an improvised comedy show where teams battle to the end, there can only be one winner! The first showdown begins with Umlaut, a Raleigh-based longform team at ComedyWorx Comedy Club, versus Diabolical Fishbank, a two-person team also at ComedyWorx. Get your tickets now for these speed rounds and improvisation battles that will leave you in stitches.

Young Bull Album Release Show – Friday, 8pm – Motorco presents Young Bull for their album “Sopadelic” release show. This young, fresh, soulful R&B group holds its roots in Durham, made up by high school pals Tahmique Cameron and Gabe Fox-Peck. Since its formation, the pair have captivated audiences with their blending of modern electric music alongside the influences of classic soul artists such as Stevie Wonder and Otis Redding. You won’t want to miss this performance from one of North Carolina’s newest up-and-coming R&B artists.

“A Tough Act to Follow” – Saturday, 11am-3pm – Shades of Pride presents the documentary at LGBTQ Center of Durham this weekend. The short version of the film makes its Durham debut following the journey of black LGBT stand-up comedian Sampson McCormick as he encounters the challenges of homophobia, sexism, racism and more. This important issue and message is vital for the community and the nation to understand. Don’t miss this important film!

Yoga at Ponysaurus Brewing Co. – Saturday, 11:30am-1pm – Join Bikram Yoga Durham on the lawn at Ponysaurus Brewing Company for some yoga! Typically done in a hot room, the lawn will suffice for this 90-minute class, open to all levels! After you’re done, stick around and grab a cold brew to chill!

Blackberry Pop Up – Saturday, noon-4pm – Blackberry Pop Up is serving up local talent in wide ranges. Bring a drink, grab a pie from East Durham Pie Co., listen to live music and stroll around looking at wares by local artisans such as Rise and Ramble or Ask the Trees and much more.

Craft Day at Historic Stagville – Saturday, noon – Take a walk through history at Historic Stagville and participate in some craft-making!

14th Annual Painted Chair and More Auction – Saturday, 5-9pm – Join fellow animal and art lovers at Levin Jewish Community Center. The auction raises funds for Independent Animal Rescue for their foster, adoption and spay/neuter programs. The fundraiser event is complete with music by the Dogwood Blossom Band alongside refreshments for the evening.

Harry Potter Midnight Release Party – Saturday, 11:30pm-Sunday, 1am – Attend the costume release party at The Regulator Bookshop as “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” written by J.K. Rowling, hits the shelves at midnight with doors opening at 11 for magical activities and fun for all the Potter fans out there!

Picklefest – Sunday, noon-4pm – The Rickhouse and Durham Central Park present 2016 Durham Picklefest! If you are interested in the tangy, tasty, tempting array of pickled dishes (and a Bloody Mary bar!), head down for a food experience you won’t forget!

Free Highlights Tour: Portraits – Sunday, 2pm – Calling all art lovers! Follow expert guide Ruth Caccavale around the current portrait exhibitions at Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University. Learn all the details and quirks behind these paintings and explore the artists’ thoughts.

ElecTrick Ladyland Release Party – Sunday, 2:30pm – The Pinhook presents the release party and show for ElecTrick Ladyland. This four-piece rock band out of Durham plays original songs ranging in influences from blues to funk to pop.

Find Waldo Wrap Party – Sunday, 3pm – Have you noticed the iconic striped shirt and black specs of Waldo throughout Durham this month? The Regulator Bookshop and Sustain-a-Bull present a celebration for the whole family, complete with prizes, activities, costumes and food! Bring your stamped Waldo passports and your best costume to the bookshop for this fun-filled event.

Marcus Anderson with Elan Trotman – Sunday, 3:30-7pm – The jazz veteran, who has performed and toured with some of the biggest names in the genre, is joined by fellow sax player Elan Trotman, one of the fastest rising stars in the industry, at this concert at Beyu Caffé.
