Winter Wonders at American Tobacco – Through Sunday – Bring the whole family to the American Tobacco Campus this season for a host of holiday-themed activities.

Free Highlights Tour – Thursday, 6pm – Let a Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University gallery guide take you through the museum’s current exhibitions

The Bondsmen – Thursday, 8pm – Formed in 1966 by friends from Northern High and Durham High, one of the Triangle’s favorite party bands reunites at The Blue Note Grill.

Kwanzaa – Friday, 6-8pm – Durham Parks and Recreation hosts this celebration of family, community and culture that includes entertainment by local and regional artists at the Holton Career and Resource Center. The celebration is held on the fifth day of Kwanzaa and celebrates the principle of Nia (purpose).

Rogers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella – Friday, 8pm, Saturday, 2pm and 8pm, and Sunday, 1pm and 6:30pm – The Tony Award- winning Broadway musical is a contemporary take on the classic tale. The production features an orchestra, jaw-dropping transformations and all the moments you love plus some surprising new twists at the Durham Performing Arts Center.

FFAF: Snake Malone & The Black Cat Bone – Friday, 9pm – Hailing from Wilmington, this seven-piece, vintage-flavored blues band play both original songs and covers of blues legends tonight at The Blue Note Grill.

New Year’s Day Run – Sunday, 1pm – Sleep in on the holiday, then run your best time of the year with Carolina Godiva Track Club at Duke School. Registration begins at noon (allow plenty of time to register).

New Year’s Day Hike – Sunday, 1pm – Come early for black-eyed peas before the hike starts at Eno River State Park. A Durham tradition since 1971, the Eno River Association rings in the New Year with this fun-filled afternoon of guided hikes, refreshments and merriment. This year offers two hike options, a longer 4.1-mile hike as well as a shorter, 2.8-mile route.

Kwanzaafest – Sunday, noon – Join Baba Chuck Davis and the African American Dance Ensemble on the last day of Kwanzaa-Imani or Faith at the Durham Armory. The children’s village will begin at 1pm and the program starts at 2pm with Shabutaso offering a drumming class, plus face painting, gift bags, prizes and games. Bring toiletry items and canned foods to donate.
