Fly-Thru: Back to School Edition – Thursday 5:30-8pm – Piedmont Wildlife Center and EcoEXPLORE present a drive-thru event for families to learn how to stay connected to nature throughout the upcoming school year. Kids can interact with animals and the Raptor Team, and take part in activities such as “Camo Critters” from the comfort of the car.
Sugar Skull Decorating Workshop – Thursday 6pm – Learn about traditional Mexican sugar skulls and decorate your own (tools and supplies provided) while enjoying tasty drinks at Crafts and Drafts NC.
Friday
Virtual Film Screenings – Friday – The Carolina Theatre premieres “For They Know Not What They Do,” a new documentary about religion, sexual orientation and gender in America. “Rebuilding Paradise,” “Creem: America’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll Magazine,” “A Thousand Cuts” and “My Stupid Dog” are also available to watch online for a limited time. Pre-ordered concessions can be picked up from 4-8pm.
Friday-Saturday
Food Truck Flix – Friday and Saturday, 8:30pm – A team of local food trucks hosts two evenings of movie screenings at Frontier RTP. Buy a pass for your car to watch ’80s classic film “Big” on Friday or the animated “Horton Hears a Who” on Saturday. Gates open at 6:30pm with the movie to follow at 8:30pm. Click here to see which food trucks are present. Proceeds from the weekend benefit Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, a nonprofit that recovers and distributes food to low-income families and neighbors.
Saturday
Movies in the Beer Garden – Saturday 8pm – Head to Glass Jug Beer Lab for drinks and a movie on a 20-foot inflatable screen. This week’s movie is “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” which screens around 8:15-8:30pm. Glass Jug wants to provide safe ways to enjoy summer Saturday nights, and asks that groups no larger than six attend.

Triangle Vegfest Virtual Edition – Saturday and Sunday, 10am-10pm – Presented by Triangle Vegfest/Vegfest Expos and The Plant-Based Network, this year’s virtual festival offers a multi-vendor marketplace and informative content from top vegan entrepreneurs, chefs and leaders. The online marketplace includes more than a dozen cruelty-free and plant-based vendors.
Sunday
Bull Moon Ride and Run 5K – Sunday, 7:30-10am – Habitat for Humanity of Durham’s two-week fundraising event concludes this Sunday with an in-person 5K race. Register online and choose your 30-minute arrival time slot. After completing the race at the RTP Greenway, participants can watch the race results online.
Theatre Talk Live – Sunday 6pm – Agape Theatre Project hosts Mariann Aala, Roxanne Reese, Rhonda Hansome, Hermine Wise and Holly Lynnea for a reunion of “Funny Colored Women” on Facebook Live. The group performed together in 2017 when they sold out audiences at the National Black Theatre Festival in Winston-Salem. Co-hosts Kenneth Hinton and Michelle Saunders interview the group about past shows, comedy and what they’re doing today.
