No, our cover wasn’t photoshopped. For our specific latte request, we sought out the talents of barista Josh Kimbrough, 31, a Chapel Hill native who remembers his introduction to “really good, specialty coffee” as a teen. It was coincidentally at Open Eye Cafe in Carrboro, where he now teaches training classes for Carrboro Coffee Roasters, which also has a coffee bar in Golden Belt.

He first learned basic barista skills as a college student in Greensboro and is currently a head barista at Carrboro Coffee, with nine years under his belt. Despite some strange requests over the years – including one for a unicorn – his go-to milk design is a tulip. Press play to watch him in action!
