Each week, we share – through pictures – what the folks behind Durham Mag have been doing around town. We’re always out and about, just because we love this place; we hope you’ll comment with what you’ve been doing, too!
The Illusionists + Taste 2016
It was a magical evening at DPAC as The Illusionists took the stage. Don’t miss another magical outing in April. We spotted a promo for it in DPAC’s program. The Grand Taste Experience is happening April 21 in downtown Durham — featuring dozens of the area’s best chefs. Get your tickets today!
Lucia
Lucia is the perfect spot for a quick lunch if you’re working downtown. Try the seared tuna salad!
Thai Cafe
Thursday was Andrea’s husband’s birthday, which, naturally, called for a slice of Thai Cafe‘s unbelievably awesome coconut cake.
Reality Ministries
Almost 200 people packed the Reality Center at 916 Lamond Ave. on Nov. 5 for the Reality Ministries third annual Fall Fundraiser Dinner, an introduction for people new to the organization, which offers a variety of opportunities for teens and adults with and without developmental disabilities to work, play, learn and grow together.
Mattie B’s
We went with the chicken Philly cheesesteak for lunch at Mattie B’s but next time, we’re going with the fantastic wing special. On Sunday, get a dozen wings for only $6.95!
Bull City Cigar Co.
Did you know you can get fresh, hand-rolled cigars made right here in Durham? Find Bull City Cigar Co. headquarters on Ninth Street, and their products in several locations across the Triangle.
Gonza Tacos
Andrea proclaimed Tuesday to be Taco Tuesday and headed to the always satisfying Gonza.
PopUp Chorus
We are now the official media sponsor of PopUp Chorus! Join us this Thursday evening at Motorco to sing “Midnight Train to Georgia.” Woo woo!
Ponysaurus
With NFL and college football, plus college basketball starting up, Amanda often ventures to Ponysaurus to watch her favorite teams play on one of their four TVs. It helps that they produce phenomenal beer, like the chocolate stout pictured here.
Pie Pushers
Before leaving the brewery, Amanda picked up a pizza from Pie Pushers, which parks outside of Ponysaurus on both Thursdays and Sundays. You just can’t beat the classic combo of pizza and beer!
