Sprinkles is a young tortoiseshell cat with an orange-tipped tail and deep-brown markings. She has white whiskers on one side of her cute face and black whiskers on the other side. This gal is quiet and calm and can seem shy when you first meet her, but she warms up quickly with a head scratch and some treats. This sweet lady would be an excellent lap cat! Wouldn’t you love to see her freckled face waiting for you when you come home from work?

It’s kitten season and the shelter has so many cats and kittens looking for their forever homes! To help, they’ve reduced all feline adoption fees to just $40. Adoption fees for cats and kittens are typically $95, which includes a basic wellness exam, spay or neuter surgery, microchip implantation, rabies and other vaccinations, and start off with one month of free pet insurance. The adoption fee for a second cat is just $50 when adopting two together.

The Animal Protection Society of Durham, located at 2117 E. Club Blvd. in Durham, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been helping animals in the community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990.
