The Hendrick Durham Auto Mall, previously located on South Roxboro Street, combined with Performance Chevrolet – another Hendrick Automotive Group General Motors dealership formerly on Durham-Chapel Hill Boulevard – to open the new, renamed Hendrick Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac Southpoint at 127 Kentington Drive adjacent to The Streets at Southpoint.

The new facility offers 73,000 square feet, compared to 49,000 square feet at the old downtown location, and contains 42 service bays, making it one of the largest General Motors retail operations in the Southeast. It’s located across from the company’s Mercedes-Benz showroom and lot, which opened last October. A Porsche dealership is expected to open at the same location by the end of the year. “When it’s all done, this whole complex is going to be incredible,” says Larry Phelps, general manager of the new dealership.

The larger space meant hiring about 50 new employees, growing the dealership’s team to 180 members. The location offers 850 new and 150 pre-owned Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles, with access to 30,000+ vehicles at Hendrickcars.com. “With more staff, more retail space and more service bays, along with the incredible shopping, dining and entertainment options right next door, we’ve expanded to provide a better overall experience for our retail and service customers,” Larry says.
