Adoption fees for cats and kittens are typically $95. That fee includes a basic wellness exam, parasite check, heartworm test and deworming, spay or neuter surgery, microchip implantation, rabies and other vaccinations, and start off with one month of free pet insurance. The adoption fee for a second cat is just $50 when adopting two together.

Thanks to our sponsors, new owners of each adopted featured pet will receive a complimentary first wellness visit from Park Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care and a free full day of camp at Camp Bow Wow.

The Animal Protection Society of Durham, located at 2117 E. In addition to county funding, APS relies on donations from individuals and corporations to feed, shelter and provide medical attention for the nearly 7,000 stray, surrendered and abused animals it cares for each year. The shelter is open Mon.-Tue. and Thu.-Fri., 10:30am-5pm; Wed. 10:30am-6pm; and Sat. 10am-2pm. For more information, call 919-560-0640 or visit www.apsofdurham.org.
