Foodie Fun for New Users of Local Restaurant App

Locally based CurEat restaurant app launched with a party at 21c Museum Hotel Friday, Jan. 13. Creator Steve Mangano describes CurEat as a way to “make friends, have fun and create lists” of your favorite restaurants in cities you live in and visit. Many local CurEaters, who participate in the app as community experts, chefs and tastemakers, were in attendance at the launch. “We hope this is the first of many successful apps here,” said Steve, who mentioned the talented group in the room as proof that the Triangle food community will continue to grow.

Lists that were submitted in the app over its launch weekend were counted toward a fundraiser with The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, which has been extended through the end of this week – users are encouraged to keep submitting lists and sharing them on social media with the tags @cureatapp and #cureat, as the CurEat team will donate $1 for each list, which equals five meals for a hungry child.
