Habitat for Humanity of Durham’s first “The House That Music Built” benefit concert invited the community to the Hayti Heritage Center for a family-friendly night complete with music, storytelling and spoken word from local poets, a silent auction, and food and wine. A fundraiser for the organization – which, since its founding in 1985, has built homes for more than 300 families – the night’s performers included Nnenna Freelon, BJ Barham and Phil Cook and the Guitarheels.
