Adopt Whisper at the Animal Protection Society of Durham

Whisper is a lap cat waiting for you to come meet her – basically, you’ll be her new favorite napping spot! She’s young, friendly and only sometimes sticks out her tongue at you. If you are looking for an adorable new best friend, she is your girl.

Adoption fees for cats and kittens are typically $95, but for the month of February, all APS cats are $50 for its Meet Your Match promotion! That fee includes a basic wellness exam, parasite check, heartworm test and deworming, spay or neuter surgery, microchip implantation, rabies and other vaccinations, and start off with one month of free pet insurance.

Thanks to our sponsors, new owners of each adopted featured pet will receive a complimentary first wellness visit from Park Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care and a free full day of camp at Camp Bow Wow.

The Animal Protection Society of Durham, located at 2117 E. Club Blvd., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been helping animals in the community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990. In addition to county funding, APS relies on donations from individuals and corporations to feed, shelter and provide medical attention for the nearly 7,000 stray, surrendered and abused animals it cares for each year. The shelter is open Mon.-Tue. and Thu.-Fri., 10:30am-5pm; Wed. 10:30am-6pm; and Sat. 10am-2pm. For more information, call 919-560-0640 or visit
