This bright and bouncy pup is a jumpy, excitable, playful and smart girl. Sunbrella is just too much fun to be one of the longer stays at the Animal Protection Society of Durham. She came to the shelter at the end of May and has been an APS favorite from the start. She’s still younger than 1 year old and would love to get out of her kennel and on to adventuring with her new forever family. Sunbrella likes treats, play, sniffing and gentle affection, and she’ll need calming exercises, brain games, basic training and opportunities to explore. As part of Clear the Shelters this month, Sunbrella’s adoption fee has been waived altogether! Visit Sunbrella’s webpage to learn more and come visit this sweet girl today!

The Animal Protection Society of Durham, located at 2117 E. Club Blvd., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been helping animals in the community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990. In addition to county funding, APS relies on donations from individuals and corporations to feed, shelter and provide medical attention for the nearly 7,000 stray, surrendered and abused animals it cares for each year. APS of Durham is open to the public for adoptions and animal visitations. To set up a virtual visit or to adopt, send adoption forms to adopt@apsofdurham.org. Same-day adoptions are now available in the shelter. For more information, email adopt@apsofdurham.org.
