Are you in a rock band? Do you yell at the TV when your favorite sports team is losing? Use the vacuum a little too often? Scout won’t mind, because he’s deaf! He makes lots of cute noises that are mighty – he’s a bit of a screamer. Scout just doesn’t know how loud he can be, but he’s looking for a family who finds his quirks charming. Scout is 8 years old and doesn’t mind a little rough play, head nudges and butt scratches. He’s gentle, sweet and has a lot of love to give. Meet him at APS of Durham today!
To set up a virtual visit or to adopt, send adoption forms to adopt@apsofdurham.org. To view Scout’s webpage, visit apsofdurham.org/cats/scout. Same-day adoptions are now available in the shelter.
Adoption fees for cats are usually $95 and $50 for the second cat when adopting two together. Adoption fees include a basic medical exam and behavioral assessment, spay or neuter surgery, microchip implantation, rabies and other vaccinations, intestinal parasite check (with treatment, control and prevention), a heart worm test and deworming.
The Animal Protection Society of Durham, located at 2117 E. Club Blvd., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been helping animals in the community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990. In addition to county funding, APS relies on donations from individuals and corporations to feed, shelter and provide medical attention for the nearly 7,000 stray, surrendered and abused animals it cares for each year. The shelter is open by appointment only due to COVID-19. For more information, email adopt@apsofdurham.org.
