This 2-year-old cocker spaniel mix is handsome, sweet, goofy and great with other dogs! Don’t let his worried face fool you; once he’s comfortable with his friends, his frown turns upside down. Chin scratches and head pats are his jam, and he’ll take those with a side of hot dogs, please. Moe has become a lot braver than when he first arrived at the Animal Protection Society of Durham. He is currently heartworm positive, but at no cost to you, APS is able to provide treatment through a foster-to-adopt period. And after treatment is over, he’s all yours!  Visit Moe’s webpage to learn more and come visit him today – he’d love to curl up in your lap!

APS is currently partnering with Bissell Pet Foundation to “Empty the Shelters!” May 1-15, so all dog adoption fees are only $50!

The Animal Protection Society of Durham, located at 2117 E. Club Blvd., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been helping animals in the community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990. In addition to county funding, APS relies on donations from individuals and corporations to feed, shelter and provide medical attention for the nearly 7,000 stray, surrendered and abused animals it cares for each year. APS of Durham is open to the public for adoptions and animal visitations. To set up a virtual visit or to adopt, send adoption forms to adopt@apsofdurham.org. Same-day adoptions are now available in the shelter. For more information, email adopt@apsofdurham.org.
