Minnie is a brown tabby cat that has a face full of sass but a heart full of love. This cross-eyed beauty is 4 years old and is an Animal Protection Society of Durham volunteer and staff favorite. She’s affectionate, loves pets, enjoys anyone who will sing her a song and would do anything for a snuggle. She isn’t the type to make a mess or cause a scene; she just wants to be around her people and receive a little love every now and then. Come meet Minnie and help her find her forever home!
To set up a visit or to adopt, send adoption forms to adopt@apsofdurham.org. Due to the high volume of inquiries, please allow 2-3 business days for a reply. Same-day adoptions are now available in the shelter. Visit Minnie’s webpage to learn more.
APS is currently running an adoption special in effort to Clear the Shelter with NBCUniversal. All cats and dogs are just $50. The adoption fee for cats and kittens is typically $95. This includes a basic medical exam and behavioral assessment, spay or neuter surgery, microchip implantation, rabies and other vaccinations, intestinal parasite check (with treatment, control and prevention), a heart worm test and deworming.
The Animal Protection Society of Durham, located at 2117 E. Club Blvd., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been helping animals in the community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990. In addition to county funding, APS relies on donations from individuals and corporations to feed, shelter and provide medical attention for the nearly 7,000 stray, surrendered and abused animals it cares for each year. The shelter is open by appointment only due to COVID-19. For more information, email adopt@apsofdurham.org.
