Marigold enjoys the simple pleasures in life – give her a stuffed toy, a nice shady spot and a belly rub, and she’s set for the day. She is an enthusiastic, energetic gal looking for someone who will help her keep her paws on the ground … she’s an Olympic-level jumper. Marigold has been at the Animal Protection Society of Durham since April 21. Her 2-year-old self is looking for someone she can learn from and cuddle up with at the end of the day. APS is currently running an adoption special in an effort to Clear the Shelter with NBCUniversal. All adoption fees for cats and dogs are just $50. Adoption fees for dogs and puppies typically range from $125-$175. This includes a basic medical exam and behavioral assessment, spay or neuter surgery, microchip implantation, rabies and other vaccinations, intestinal parasite check (with treatment, control and prevention), a heartworm test and deworming.
The Animal Protection Society of Durham, located at 2117 E. Club Blvd., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been helping animals in the community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990. In addition to county funding, APS relies on donations from individuals and corporations to feed, shelter and provide medical attention for the nearly 7,000 stray, surrendered and abused animals it cares for each year.
