Mango is a lady who is sweet as can be and likes to do things on her own terms. She has a big personality and takes her time getting to know new people. If you win her over, she’ll be your best friend for life. Mango loves a toy or a ball and wading in the pool. She has met plenty of dogs at her time at the Animal Protection Society of Durham but can be conflicted when meeting dogs with a different play style than hers. APS is currently running an adoption special in an effort to Clear the Shelter with NBCUniversal. All adoption fees for cats and dogs are just $50. Adoption fees for dogs and puppies typically range from $125-$175. This includes a basic medical exam and behavioral assessment, spay or neuter surgery, microchip implantation, rabies and other vaccinations, intestinal parasite check (with treatment, control and prevention), a heartworm test and deworming.
The Animal Protection Society of Durham, located at 2117 E. Club Blvd., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been helping animals in the community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990. In addition to county funding, APS relies on donations from individuals and corporations to feed, shelter and provide medical attention for the nearly 7,000 stray, surrendered and abused animals it cares for each year.
