Lady Shortcake is a young, energetic gal who’s slightly excitable around other dogs but is very friendly, responds well to treat-training and is eager to learn better manners. For now, at least, she would prefer to be your one-and-only canine companion. She’s a muscular 55 pounds and is just looking for a home where she can be herself.

Through July, adoption prices are going to correspond with the date of the calendar during the rest of July. Come in on the July 27, for instance, for a $27 adoption fee. Don’t wait too late to get the best adoption fee to take Lady Shortcake home and make your family feel complete! To set up a virtual visit or to adopt, send adoption forms to adopt@apsofdurham.org. To view Lady Shortcake’s webpage, visit apsofdurham.org/dogs/lady-shortcake. Same-day adoptions are now available in the shelter!

Adoption fees for dogs and puppies typically range from $125-$175. This includes a basic medical exam, spay or neuter surgery, microchip implantation, rabies and other vaccinations, intestinal parasite check, a heartworm test and deworming.
