Looking for a charmer? Charmin is your guy! This 6-year-old ball of love is affectionate, sweet and friendly. He’s a smiley guy who likes to play when he’s in the mood. Some of Charmin’s favorite things in life are treats, playing with a ball and exploring. He’d do best in a house with children older than 6, as he can get anxious around fast movements, and with gentle dogs after a slow/careful intro. He’s been at the shelter since Dec. 15 and can’t wait to find his perfect people who will take him on adventures and give him lots of time to sniff. Set up a visit with him at the Animal Protection Society of Durham today!

To set up a virtual visit or to adopt, send adoption forms to adopt@apsofdurham.org. To view Charmin’s webpage, visit this page. Same-day adoptions are now available in the shelter.

Adoption fees include a basic medical exam and behavioral assessment, spay or neuter surgery, microchip implantation, rabies and other vaccinations, intestinal parasite check (with treatment, control and prevention), a heart worm test and deworming.

The Animal Protection Society of Durham, located at 2117 E. Club Blvd., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been helping animals in the community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990. In addition to county funding, APS relies on donations from individuals and corporations to feed, shelter and provide medical attention for the nearly 7,000 stray, surrendered and abused animals it cares for each year. The shelter is open by appointment only due to COVID-19. For more information, email adopt@apsofdurham.org.
