Adoptable Pet of the Week: Bruiser

Bruiser sits perched on the edge of a pillow and/or couch cushion. His big brown eyes stare up at the camera as he politely waits for his picture to be taken.

Bruiser is the most mellow cat you’ll ever meet! Give him your love, affection and plenty of petting to hear him purr nonstop. Bruiser grew up in foster care, which helped him get stronger and become acquainted with the ways of the world. Want to adopt this cuddly feline? Visit Bruiser’s webpage to learn more!

APS has cats available for adoption not only at its shelter, but also cats in foster care who are also looking for forever homes! If you’re interested in adoption, fill out an application and email it to adopt@apsofdurham.org. Due to the high volume of inquiries, please allow two-three business days for a reply.

APS is currently running a Pick-Your-Price Adoption Special until Thursday, June 29, allowing adopters to pick their price. Spread the word and help get these animals adopted!

The adoption fee for cats and kittens is $95. This includes a basic medical exam and behavioral assessment, spay or neuter surgery, microchip implantation, rabies and other vaccinations, intestinal parasite check (with treatment, control and prevention), a heart worm test and deworming.

The Animal Protection Society of Durham, located at 2117 E. Club Blvd., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been helping animals in the community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990. In addition to county funding, APS relies on donations from individuals and corporations to feed, shelter and provide medical attention for the nearly 7,000 stray, surrendered and abused animals it cares for each year. The shelter is open by appointment only due to COVID-19. For more information, email adopt@apsofdurham.org.
