Bandit isn’t one to rob banks or cause high-speed chases – he’s known to only steal hearts and take one too many treats when you’re not looking. If you’re seeking a gentle, affectionate and friendly pet, we know he could be your No. 1. Bandit is cool as a cucumber and super smart. He would do best in a home with gentle people (and/or kids ages 6 and older) willing to take it slow and offer him a cozy retreat for when he needs some alone time. He is wary of other dogs so would need to be your one and only. But don’t let that stop you from stopping by APS of Durham to learn more about this guy. He has been at the shelter since February and is ready to enjoy the summer with his forever people.

APS is currently running a Pick-Your-Price adoption special through June 24. Adopters can pick the adoption fee for any cat or dog! Adoption fees for dogs and puppies typically range from $125-$175. This includes a basic medical exam and behavioral assessment, spay or neuter surgery, microchip implantation, rabies and other vaccinations, intestinal parasite check (with treatment, control and prevention), a heartworm test and deworming.
The Animal Protection Society of Durham, located at 2117 E. Club Blvd., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been helping animals in the community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990. In addition to county funding, APS relies on donations from individuals and corporations to feed, shelter and provide medical attention for the nearly 7,000 stray, surrendered and abused animals it cares for each year.
