Andre is a very sweet, 49-pound, 2-year-old boy who can, on occasion, be a bit particular about some other canines I meet. He gets along with many dogs, but appreciates those who are gentle and have polite manners, with a slow and careful introduction. Like many people, he doesn’t appreciate being jumped on. If you have another dog at home, arrange a gentle meet and greet to see how they hit it off. He’s a polite guy, but not keen on living with cats. He’s active and has a love for adventure, which makes his long stay at APS (he’s been at the shelter since April 21) a bit tough for him. He also has brilliant young dog energy, is super playful, a good walker and curious, and would love to go on hikes, hang out at the Eno, splash around in the water and search for bugs to pounce on – so fun! See if you’re a match with Andre today!
Through August, adoption fees for all adoptable dogs and cats are $50 during Clear the Shelters. To set up a virtual visit or to adopt, send adoption forms to [email protected]. To view Andre’s webpage, visit apsofdurham.org/dogs/andre. Same-day adoptions are now available in the shelter!
Adoption fees for dogs and puppies typically range from $125-$175. This includes a basic medical exam and behavioral assessment, spay or neuter surgery, microchip implantation, rabies and other vaccinations, intestinal parasite check (with treatment, control and prevention), a heartworm test and deworming.
