Adoptable Pet of the Week: Suki

Suki at APS of Durham

Suki is very curious, affectionate and playful. “She follows me around the house purring and meowing,” her foster mom says. “[She] likes to be close to her people. Her coat is so soft ,and her fluffy tail is adorable! She is very friendly and bold. She warmed up right away to the resident dog and now they are good playmates. She is still working on the resident cat who is not as enthusiastic as she is to play. She would do best in a house with other willing playmates.”

For more information on Suki, contact adopt@apsofdurham.org. To view her webpage, visit apsofdurham.org/cats/suki. Note that at this time, all APS animals are in foster care. For more adoptable cats, please visit apsofdurham.org/cats

Adoption fees for cats are $95 and $50 for the second cat when adopting two together. This includes a basic medical exam, spay or neuter surgery, microchip implantation, rabies and other vaccinations, intestinal parasite check, a heartworm test and deworming.

Thanks to our sponsors, new owners of each adopted featured pet will receive a complimentary first wellness visit from Park Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care and a free full day of camp at Camp Bow Wow.

The Animal Protection Society of Durham, located at 2117 E. Club Blvd., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been helping animals in the community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990. In addition to county funding, APS relies on donations from individuals and corporations to feed, shelter and provide medical attention for the nearly 7,000 stray, surrendered and abused animals it cares for each year. The shelter is open by appointment only due to COVID-19. For more information, email adopt@apsofdurham.org.
