Scarlett is a friendly girl who likes to keep herself busy. She has lots of energy, but she also loves to cuddle and snuggle with people. She especially loves to play and would be a great companion for walks and daily trips to the park. She’s very into treats – and you can bet she’s a fast learner. Meet her today!

Scarlett’s adoption fee was waived so that she can find a wonderful home soon! To set up a virtual visit or to adopt, send adoption forms to adopt@apsofdurham.org. To view Scarlett’s webpage, visit apsofdurham.org/dogs/scarlett. Same-day adoptions are now available in the shelter.

Adoption fees for dogs and puppies typically range from $100-$175. This includes a basic medical exam, spay or neuter surgery, microchip implantation, rabies and other vaccinations, intestinal parasite check, a heartworm test and deworming.

The Animal Protection Society of Durham, located at 2117 E. Club Blvd., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been helping animals in the community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990. In addition to county funding, APS relies on donations from individuals and corporations to feed, shelter and provide medical attention for the nearly 7,000 stray, surrendered and abused animals it cares for each year. The shelter is open Mon.-Tue. and Thu.-Fri., 10:30am-5pm; Wed. 10:30am-6pm; and Sat. 10am-2pm. For more information, call 919-560-0640 or visit www.apsofdurham.org.
