Missy is a sweet and friendly girl who is super happy to meet new people and also loves to explore. She’s playful, too – toss a ball or toy for her and see! She really enjoys gentle affection and might even crawl into your lap or lean into you for more. She’d benefit from plenty of playtime and basic manners. Visit her today!

Missy’s adoption fee has been waived so that the Animal Protection Society of Durham can find her a new home quickly. To set up a virtual visit or to adopt, send adoption forms to [email protected]. To view Missy’s webpage, visit apsofdurham.org/dogs/missy. Same-day adoptions are now available in the shelter.

Adoption fees for dogs and puppies typically range from $100-$175. This includes a basic medical exam, spay or neuter surgery, microchip implantation, rabies and other vaccinations, intestinal parasite check, a heartworm test and deworming.

Thanks to our sponsor, new owners of each adopted featured pet will receive a free full day of camp at Camp Bow Wow.

The Animal Protection Society of Durham, located at 2117 E. Club Blvd., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been helping animals in the community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990. In addition to county funding, APS relies on donations from individuals and corporations to feed, shelter and provide medical attention for the nearly 7,000 stray, surrendered and abused animals it cares for each year. The shelter is open Mon.-Tue. and Thu.-Fri., 10:30am-5pm; Wed. 10:30am-6pm; and Sat. 10am-2pm. For more information, call 919-560-0640 or visit www.apsofdurham.org.
