Winter Wonder Walks at American Tobacco – Thursday-Jan. 1 – American Tobacco Campus strings up its lights again this year – perfect for a socially distanced walk, a festive photo-op and a unique outdoor dining experience.
The Streetery – Friday and Saturday, 5-9:30pm – Downtown Durham Inc. opens multiple downtown streets to pedestrian traffic, with festive lights, music and performers. This event runs every Friday and Saturday through Dec. 19. “This is our way of welcoming folks to a safer, socially distanced, outdoor downtown experience,” says Nicole J. Thompson, DDI president and CEO.
2020 Durham Craft Market Shop Small Saturday – Saturday, 11am-4pm – Kickstart your holiday shopping at the Durham Craft Market in Durham Central Park. The weekly market includes more than 30-plus local vendors, including Doora Ceramics, Geek Chic Fashion, Lo & Behold Naturals and more.
Full Moon Fever Bike Ride – Turkey Ride – Saturday, 7:30-10:30pm – Need something to work off that Thanksgiving dinner? Join Durham Parks & Recreation and the Durham Community Trail Watch group on a bike ride on the American Tobacco Trail under the moonlight. Participants can choose from between a 32-mile bike ride starting at 7:30pm or a 16-mile bike ride starting at 8:30pm. (Don’t forget your helmet!)
A (Virtual) Christmas with The Griswolds, An Evening with Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo – Saturday, 8pm – The characters Clark and Ellen Griswold (actor Chevy Chase and actress Beverly D’Angelo) from the movie “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” participate in a livestreamed event hosted by DPAC. The two celebrities will share fan-favorite clips from the movie, reveal their favorite memories from the making of the Vacation franchise and answer questions from the audience during a live Q&A.
