You have to hear Cool John Ferguson to believe it. The legendary Taj Mahal had this praise for Cool John: “He is among the five greatest guitarists in the world — he ranks with the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Wes Montgomery, and Django Reinhardt.”
Self-taught electric guitarist Cool John Ferguson was born in the Sea Islands of South Carolina, and his Gullah heritage and the gospel music of his upbringing inform his approach to the blues. A frequent performer at blues festivals around the world, Cool John was named “most outstanding guitarist” by Living Blues Magazine two years straight.

Domaine Galevan is one of the oldest Chateauneuf du Pape producers in the Rhone Valley, first starting out as a grape supplier for larger negociants in the region in the late 1700s. Coralie Goumarre, the first female winemaker to head the domaine in nine generations, took the helm in 1995 and has since expanded their lineup to include wines from the Cotes du Rhone.
With years of winemaking experience and knowledge passed down from generation to generation, Coralie has approached the domaine’s future with a modern, energetic, and independent outlook. Under her tenure, she converted the domaine in 2011 to operate under biodynamic and organic standards and released the Saint Georges cuvee, the estate’s top wine, in 2009 – a Chateuneuf du Pape completely made from low-yielding, 100 year old Grenache vines.
Many of her estate’s wines are described as full-bodied and hedonistically styled, with rich and dense aromatics of classic southern Rhone Valley wines – cassis, kirsch, licorice, smoke, iodine, a roasted herbs. Despite the wines of Domaine Galevan getting outstanding reviews from heralded publications such as Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate, and the like, Coralie’s wines remain one of the most exceptional values in the region.

A band with a sound unlike any other, Nee Ningy presents an uncommon blend of American and European traditional tunes from blues, southern old time, and Cajun to Swedish walking music, Scottish reels, and the French bourrée.
Celebrating the release of their 2017 album “The Parlour Sessions.”
The Nee Ningys were big on the festival scene in the late 70’s and 80’s. With seemingly every sound and instrument on earth at their disposal (except guitar – no guitars!), they get called world music, corralling everything from Cajun and Appalachian music to Tex-Mex and French and English folk songs into one joyful sound. But maybe we can just call them funk. It’s all just funky, dirty, down-to-earth, shout-it-out music, reaching into the gut of every culture and genre for that thing that makes you feel alive.
