Red Cross Volunteering Open House @ American Red Cross of Central NC

Stop by our informal Open House to learn about volunteering with the American Red Cross! There are many opportunities available; our highest needs are assisting donors at blood drives, supporting members of the armed forces, greeting visitors to the building, assisting families affected by home fires and using Red Cross vehicles to drive boxes of blood to hospitals. 2017 Annual Triangle VegFest – Day 1 @ Durham Arts Council - PSI Theater

The Triangle’s Fourth Annual VegFest will kick off Saturday, August 26th at the Durham Arts Council – PSI Theater.

This FREE two-day festival is open to all and features vegan vendors, inspiring speakers, delicious plant-based food and drink, live music, and a Kid Zone. If you love food, beer, kombucha, shopping, cooking demos, roundtable discussions, and family-friendly fun, this is the event for you.

Day 1: Presenter Day
Saturday, August 26, 2017 – 10 am-5 pm
Durham Arts Council PSI Theater – 120 Morris St, Durham, NC
-A day of dynamic presenters (still growing, check website for updates!)
-Limited number of vendors in the gallery
-Soul Cocina Triangle will be selling food so you will not have to go far if you get hungry.

Day 2: Vendor Day
Sunday, August 27, 2017 – 11 am-5 pm
Durham Armory – 220 Foster St, Durham, NC
-Vendors galore (still growing, check website for updates!)
-Outdoor Food Trucks
-REX Blood Mobile

Please come out to join us and learn how easy, healthy, and joyful the plant-based life can be! The first 200 people will get a goodie bag filled with coupons and samples!

This event is free, but we are requesting a $5 suggested donation to go towards Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge, a non-profit sanctuary for farmed animals.

Peace of Mind, Piece of Mind @ Global Breath Studio
Aug 26 @ 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Join CNOTE at Global Breath Studio as we explore mental health + wellness, mindfulness and self-care! An introductory yoga session will kick things off. Afterwards, indulge in a Happy Hour saluting Durham beer and a candid panel discussion on health and wellness centered around the black community. Be mindful, there are a limited amount of yoga spots available!

25th Anniversary Alzheimer’s Triangle Walk and 5/10K Run – A Celebration of Hope @ Koka Booth Amphitheatre

AlzNC Triangle Walk and Run benefits and supports caregivers and their families in North Carolina. Registration for the Triangle AlzNC Walk and Run is now open. Festivities will kick-off at 8:00am. for the 25th Anniversary – Celebration of Hope, which will include interactive education, lawn games, kids activities, pet therapy, live music, food and a raffle following the 5/10K. Dogs are welcome.

Alzheimer’s North Carolina is dedicated to providing education, support and services for individuals with dementia, their families, healthcare professionals and the general public while raising awareness and funding for research of a cause, treatment, prevention and a cure for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

Support and participation in AlzNC Walk and Run will help to continue the mission to assist North Carolinians and their families living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. To register for the walk or run or to see the schedule of events visit www.AlzNC.org.
