Women’s Equality Day @ Tobacco Road Sports Cafe

Please join the League of Women Voters of Orange, Durham and Chatham counties for cocktails and conversation with our elected officials on Tuesday August 28, 2018. This event is in celebration of Women’s Equality Day and will be held from 5:30 – 7:30 PM at the Tobacco Road Sports Cafe, 1118 Environ Way, Chapel Hill.
The program is free and open to the public, a cash bar will be available. Please RSVP attendance to kaw22lwv@gmail.com. Free parking is available on site.

Durham County Candidates Forum @ Durham Public Schools Staff Development Center

The League of Women Voters of Orange, Durham and Chatham Counties (LWVODC) will hold a Candidates’ Forum for Durham County candidates for the North Carolina General Assembly from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, 2018. The event will be held at the Durham Public Schools Staff Development Center, 2107 Hillandale Road, Durham, NC 27705.
The event will be moderated and each candidate will speak about their experience and priorities with respect to issues important to Durham County voters. Following candidates’ statements, attendees will have an opportunity to meet with the individuals running for office.
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that was founded 98 years ago to encourage informed citizen participation in government. The public holds the League in high regard for its work on candidate forums and for its commitment to follow best practices to ensure a fair and well-executed forum. The forum will neither promote nor advance one candidate over another.
The forum is open to the public and the news media.
