Paris West Heritage @ Dovecote Style
Nov 23 @ 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

Bria Bergman and Jessica Casper were first introduced while working at a fashion startup that made jewelry from seeds – and from there a path to business partners grew. After years spent designing, collaborating and transforming the lives of craftsmen and their communities abroad, the two agreed: it was time to bring it back home. So in 2015, Bria and Jess launched Paris West Heritage.
Paris West uses sustainably sourced premium baby alpaca fiber as it has the lowest micron count in the alpaca family resulting in accessories knit with a softer hand and more comfortable wear. The hollow core of alpaca fiber affords it great versatility. It allows heat to escape while providing insulation from the cold, wicks moisture and is hypoallergenic. Due to its longer fiber, alpaca will not pill so you can be sure your accessories will look their best year after year.
We fell in love with the classic, understated elegance of their products. Organic in feel and coloration, their wraps are the perfect weight to be enjoyed year round. Handsewn detailing gives an heirloom quality to their collection and makes everything feel so special. Their gorgeous scarves are suitable for men and women and would make luxurious gifts for those hard-to-shop-for people on your list this holiday season. And Paris West baby blankets are the perfect way to say “welcome-to-the-world, little one” – a gift for a lifetime.

Nate Swick – American Birding Association Field Guide to Birds of the Carolinas @ McIntyre's Books
Dec 9 @ 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

North and South Carolina together offer an impressive range of natural habitats for birds. From the spruce-fir woodlands of the Appalachians in the west to the rolling Piedmont hills and extensive pinelands, all the way east to the saltwater marshes and bays of the barrier islands, the Carolinas are a perfect place to see many types of birds. From oystercatchers, turnstones, and avocets to warblers, sparrows, finches and everything in between, the Carolinas are a birder’s paradise.
This new book in the American Birding Association Field Guide series builds on the excellence of previous titles. It includes 550 beautiful color photographs featuring 300 bird species in natural habitats, a clear and concise introduction, identification, habitat, and birdsong text. Additionally, it features tips on when and where to see birds and a detailed state map, index, and quick index. It is a perfect portable book for beginning to intermediate birders.
Nate Swick is a birder. He grew up in the midwest but currently makes his home in Greensboro, North Carolina, with his wife and two young children, who are not yet aware that they are birders too. He has a soft spot for Piping Plovers and loves pelagics even when his stomach doesn’t, which makes him the quintessential Carolina birder. Nate is the editor of the ABA blog, host of the American Birding Podcast, and author of two books, Birding for the Curious and The ABA Field Guide to Birds of the Carolinas.
