The official tie-in to Broadway’s hit musical Waitress, featuring the recipes for 3 dozen of the show’s most evocative and delicious pies.
In the cult classic movie-turned-Broadway production, the eternally optimistic protagonist of Waitress expresses her hopes, dreams, fears, and frustrations through the whimsically named pies she bakes each morning. Sugar, Butter, Flour celebrates this art of baking from the heart, with foolproof and flavorful pies for seduction, pies for mending a broken heart, pies for celebrating new beginnings and pies for all the little milestones that come afterwards.
Taking its inspiration from the iconic mile-high pies of the diner case, Sugar, Butter, Flour offers an array of showstopping pies, each with a twist that puts it over the top; from rum-spiked cookie crusts to hidden layers of passion fruit preserves, these are familiar favorites with hidden depths. The ideal gift for anyone who has ever eaten her feelings or baked away the blues, Sugar, Butter, Flour proves there’s a perfect pie for every occasion – and that everything looks better with pie.
Raise your paws if you’re ready for another pop-up market at your favorite brewery! This September we’re opening the parking lot and brewery to local vendors as well as some adorable VIPs from The Animal Protection Society of Durham. These Very Important Pups are a part of the Durham Parks and Recreation’s Yappie Hour organization and their cause is a good one. Socialization is important in any dog’s daily life no matter the age, and one of the best ways to socialize your pup is to take it to a dog park. Yappie Hour and the Durham Parks and Recreation department have already helped build or improve three local dog parks, and have set their sights on a fourth location at the Rock Quarry.
Aside from the dogs, we’ve also got a great lineup of local vendors with some really nice products for sale! These vendors include –

What does this mean for you? It means a really good day. All you have to do is show up, we’ll take care of setting up the food, vendors, beer, and dogs. The taproom will be open all day with fresh, cold beer pouring as fast as our bartenders can move their hands, and I imagine the food truck Boricua Soul Food Truck will be working at just as fast of a pace. Besides food and drinks, you’re welcome to browse the shops and see if anything catches your eye, as well as get some serious dog petting in. While there is no fee, we heavily encourage donations to Yappie Hour, because more places for dogs to be happy is never a bad thing.
Visit The Goat on Saturdays at 3pm for a free wine tasting with Fearrington sommeliers and the occasional guest! Taste hand-selected red and white wines, and ask our sommeliers to help you find a bottle to take home.
