Matt Braunger @ Motorco Music Hall
Feb 18 @ 9:00 pm

One of the most relatable comics working today has some funny to share with you. Raised in Portland, Oregon, he has been a performer since childhood, having studied theater in New York and improv in Chicago. With credits to his name like the United Citizen’s Brigade, MADtv, the Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, Up All Night, Maron, @midnight, and the Late Show with David Letterman he’s one of the most recognizable faces in comedy. His latest special, Big Dumb Animal, is now on Netflix.

He has unlimited energy on stage. With even the silliest joke he maintains an earnestness that’s flat out contagious. Feature act, Raleigh comedian Eric Megert, is beside himself, “I love that I am on this show with Matt. His material makes me cry with laughter every time I hear it.”

He has a definite physical presence and a high energy. He touches on everything from why owls are terrible to what it feels like to be a 39-year-old single man with no mortgage, “I don’t want to be single. I want a companion, I do…but I also just don’t want to be creepy.”

Come see Matt at Motorco Music Hall–one of the most beloved events spaces in Durham. Get there early and have some hipster poutine at Parts & Labor next door. Get yourself delicious cocktail or beer and have a seat for some serious entertaining. Hosted by Durham comedian Deb Aronin.

The Trailer Park Boys – Ricky, Julian and Bubbles – are back and they’re “STILL DRUNK, HIGH and UNEMPLOYED!” But not for long if Bubbles has his way! Having answered to the law in the “Community Service Variety Show;” preaching the dangers of substance abuse to avoid jail time, the crew are now on the road without parole officers. Over the past 14 years “The Boys” have garnered much press and gained a hardcore following of fans.

The Boys began as a short film starring John Paul Tremblay and Robb Wells, which debuted to rave reviews at the 1999 Atlantic Film Festival. The premise: a camera crew chronicles the boys’ adventures living in the Sunnyvale Trailer Park in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The camera crew continues to follow Bubbles, Ricky and Julian.

The brand has escalated to new heights with the television series being picked up by Netflix. Last year also saw the launch of The Trailer Park Boys podcast on iTunes, where it was nominated for the Best of iTunes. Currently it holds 1.2 million downloads. Live tours continue to sell out across North America, Europe, New Zealand and Australia.

The Boys recently debuted Season 10 on Netflix and are also releasing a new special entitled “Out of The Park Europe,” which was filmed this past year. Season 11 is soon to be in production. All of this along with the popularity of Swearnet.com, their uncensored online comedy network, has caught the eye of the celebrity circuit. Fans include: Jimmy Kimmel, Snoop Dogg (who makes an appearance in Season 10), Axl Rose, Billy Bob Thornton, Noel Fielding, Verne Troyer, Rival Sons & Rush.
