Board of Elections Panel Discussion: Chatham, Durham, Orange Counties @ Chapel Hill Public Library

Learn about North Carolina’s procedures for purging voter rolls, verification of voter registration, selection of early voting sites, and more. The public is invited to a panel discussion with the Board of Elections directors from Chatham, Durham and Orange Counties, sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Orange, Durham and Chatham Counties.

The discussion will be held on Wednesday September 6, 2017, in the Chapel Hill Public Library, located at 100 Library Drive, Chapel Hill. Come at noon with a brown-bag lunch, beverages will be provided. The 90 minute program will begin promptly at 12:30 PM, is free and open to the public. Free parking is available.

Know Homo: Camp Cookout @ LGBTQ Center of Durham

Men’s social night at LGBTQ Center of Durham.

This free quarterly event brings #men (and those masculine of center) together for good. Good conversation, good networking and good times. Join us this time for Camp Cookout, where we will have some food, conversation and if you are game, some crafts and playful competitions.

All masculine of center identities across the spectrums of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual identity, immigration status, and ability are welcome.

Siler City Candidates Forum @ Central Carolina Community College

The Chatham Unit of the League of Women Voters of Orange, Durham and Chatham Counties is sponsoring a forum for the public to hear from the candidates for Siler City Mayor and Board of Commissioners.

The forum will be held on Tuesday October 3, 2017, in Room 130 at the Central Carolina Community College, located at 400 Progress Blvd, Siler City, from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Each candidate has been invited to present opening remarks, followed by a question and answer period, and then closing remarks. Members of the League of Women Voters will be available to register voters and provide information about voting rights. The forum is free and open to the public, refreshments will be served, and free parking is available.

The Chatham Unit of the League of Women Voters of Orange, Durham and Chatham Counties is sponsoring an event for the public to meet the candidates for Siler City Mayor and Board of Commissioners.

This reception will be held on Thursday October 5, 2017, in Room 230-232 at the Central Carolina Community College, located at 400 Progress Blvd, Siler City, from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Each candidate may take 5-10 minutes to give his or her priorities and reasons for seeking the office. Members of the League of Women Voters will be available to register voters and provide information about voting rights. The reception is free and open to the public, refreshments will be served, and free parking is available.

Durham Candidates Forum @ St. Paul's Lutheran Church

The Durham Unit of the League of Women Voters of Orange, Durham and Chatham Counties is sponsoring a forum for the public to hear from the candidates for Durham Mayor and City Council.

The forum, moderated by Kelly McCullen, Director of The North Carolina Channel/UNCTV, will be held on Sunday October 15, 2017, in the Fellowship Hall at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, located at 1200 W Cornwallis Rd., Durham, from 3:00-5:00 PM.

Each candidate has been invited to present opening remarks, followed by a question and answer period, and then closing remarks. The forum is free and open to the public, and free parking is available.
