Jim McKeon: 5 Points Gallery Featured Artist

5 Points Gallery in downtown Durham introduces a new exhibit featuring the work of artist Jim McKeon. The focus of the show is Jim’s epic new commission piece, Bridging The Gap, which will hang in the gallery for only the duration of the show before it goes into a private collection. His previous work, Breaking Glass Ceilings, is now part of the permanent collection at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York. Jim’s large scale pieces are often infused with local landmarks and current news while talking about the historical national issues of inequality and racism, as well as his take on the global issue of environmental warming. Join us for our Third Friday Opening Reception April 21, 6-9pm. Meet the artists and view the latest works by our nine Triangle-based artists in a range of mediums including painting, sculpture, fused glass, and mixed media. This exhibit runs April 20-May 13.
