Adopt a Lemur Package at Washington Duke Inn & JB Duke Hotel
Get an early start to your weekend at the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club and JB Duke Hotel this summer by spending time with special, furry friends at the nearby Duke Lemur Center, a world leader in the study, care and protection of lemurs—Earth’s most threatened group of mammals. Located on Duke University’s campus just minutes from the Inn, the Duke Lemur Center is home to more than 200 animals across 14 species, housing the world’s largest and most diverse population of lemurs outside their native Madagascar.
The Washington Duke Inn and JB Duke Hotel’s Adopt a Lemur packages are available for check-in Thursdays through Saturdays*. A plush, ring-tail lemur stuffed animal will greet you in your room upon arrival, along with an Adopt a Lemur packet from the Duke Lemur Center that includes an adoption certificate, species fact sheet, lemur biography, photo and sticker. The symbolic, one-year adoption supports animal care at the Duke Lemur Center and its conservation programs in Madagascar. You can opt to receive quarterly email updates about the lemur you’re helping to care for.
The Adopt a Lemur package includes a one-night stay in a guest room or suite and two (2) tickets for a self-guided tour at the Duke Lemur Center. Be sure to keep an eye out for your new primate pal while taking the tour! Guests that book the package through Washington Duke Inn will enjoy a classic breakfast for two in the Vista Restaurant. Guests experiencing this package through the JB Duke Hotel will enjoy full buffet breakfasts for two at the MarketPlace restaurant.
