New Look. New classes. New reasons to be healthier! The newly renovated Duke Health and Fitness Center opened January 12. The Fitness Center has undergone an eight-month, multimillion dollar renovation, which includes the Sports Medicine group in an upstairs mezzanine. The rejuvenated facility offers some significant improvements including: a private exercise studio for mind and body classes; education and special programming; an additional Cardio Theatre area to help entertain you through your workout; a larger group exercise floor for enhanced space during the wide variety of classes; and, as a bonus, they have converted the pool and spa to saline.
The Duke Health and Fitness Center, located at 3475 Erwin Road, has always been more than a gym. As a medically based, community wellness center, it offers the friendly, caring and professional experience of a fitness club with medical expertise that is often hard to find. The experienced staff of exercise physiologists and dietitians can help members focus on making positive, healthy, lasting lifestyle changes.
Come see for yourself! The center will host a grand opening celebration on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 10am-2pm. In addition to an aerobathon, there will be plentiful vendors, raffles and opportunities to get a massage.
