Join Northgate Mall and NC MomsRising at the 7th annual MLK Birthday Celebration.
Families are invited to Durham for a giant kid-focused birthday party to honor and celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King on MLK Day.
Event activities include free English/Spanish story times, arts and crafts, kids’ Zumba, drumming performance, interactive activities, service projects such as a food and clothes drive benefiting Urban Ministries, and birthday cake as we celebrate Dr. King’s life and legacy in a way that kids can understand. This event is free and appropriate for ages 0-100.

Make and take creative projects at the Wonder of Learning/Scrap Exchange Materials Day!
Kids from 0-100 are invited to celebrate Earth Day with a special event focused on re-use and creativity and includes collaborative group art projects such as constructing a cardboard city and creating a group weaving.
Participants will be able to enjoy make and take projects with the Scrap Exchange
The day long event features:

• Live Music including drum circle musician, Diali Keba Cissokho,
• Make and take projects with Scrap Exchange
• Wonder of Learning exhibit tours
• The MakerLab activities and more
Organized by the North Carolina Wonder of Learning, an international traveling exhibit featuring over 7,000 square feet of dynamic interactive learning and information showcasing the world-renowned early childhood education project developed
in Reggio Emilia Italy.

Hill Mile @ Durham Academy

The Hill Center of Durham invites you to the 3rd Annual Mile Race and Kids’ Dash on Sunday, April 23th, 2017.

Three races include:
• One Mile Race & Walk – Chip timing for every skill level & awards for age group winners
• Fleet Feet Fast Mile – Track-based competitive mile, qualifying times: Men – sub 6:00, Women – sub 7:30
• Kids’ Dash – Children 10 and under

Join us for kids activities, food trucks, music and more!

All proceeds from the race will support Student Financial Aid for The Hill Center’s School Year Program.

New Primrose School at Brier Creek Hosts Grand Opening Celebration @ Primrose School at Brier Creek

Please join Franchise Owners Karen Shults and her son Daniel Shults for a grand opening event to celebrate the new Primrose School at Brier Creek. Local families and children are invited to attend the grand opening celebration.

During the grand opening celebration, children and families will have the opportunity to meet Franchise Owners Karen and her son Daniel, tour the school and learn about the Primrose exclusive Balanced Learning® approach. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m. to officially mark the grand opening of the school. Additionally, children and their families will enjoy games, music, safety demonstrations by the Raleigh Northwest District Police Department, visits from Percy the Rooster® and Mr. McGruff the Crime Dog and Rita’s Ice for a fun snack. Magic by David will also be attending to create balloon animals, do face-painting and perform a special magic show at 1 p.m. Several raffles will be held throughout the day with prizes, like a two-night stay at the Fairfield Inn, a gift certificate to Tra’Li Irish Pub and Restaurant and more.

Primrose Schools, with nearly 350 schools across 29 states, is a family of accredited, high-quality early education and care schools for children ages 6 weeks to 6-years-old and after-school care for children up to age 12.
