Blue Devils vs. Cancer: Sixth Annual Sweet Night in Durham @ Duke Cancer Center

A night of unlimited desserts dedicated to raising money to donate toward cancer research at the Duke Cancer Institute. All proceeds will go to the Duke Cancer Institute. Duke Performances Presents Jóhann Jóhannsson’s Drone Mass featuring ACME and Theatre of Voices @ Baldwin Auditorium - Duke University

Golden Globe-winning and Oscar-nominated composer Jóhann Jóhannsson is joined by American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME), Theatre of Voices and conductor Donato Cabrera to present his 2015 composition Drone Mass, based on the Coptic Gospel of the Egyptians. The hour-long work was commissioned by ACME for its 10th anniversary season and premiered at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

DIBS Discovery Day @ Duke Institute for Brain Sciences

Join the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences (DIBS) to experience family-friendly demonstrations and conversations about how brain science is used to help solve society’s most pressing challenges. Activities include measuring electrical activity in live crickets, brain teasers, concussion prevention demos, holding brain specimens and more. A kids’ corner will be available to help satisfy the minds of young tots! Free and open to the public.

Walk for the Animals @ Duke University East Campus Lawn

Head over to Duke’s East Campus for a one-and-a-half-mile morning walk with your furry companion and raise funds
to help provide a safe, clean shelter and medical care for the animals at Animal Protection Society of Durham. There will be pet contests, more than 50 vendors, a kids’ zone, food trucks and more.
