Breakfast with Santa @ Weathervane at Southern Season

Join us for a morning full of holiday cheer when Santa comes to visit Weathervane!

On Wednesday, December 21st join us for breakfast with Santa from 8 to 10:30 a.m.

Reservations will be offered in the following time slots:

8am-9am

9:30am-10:30am

We will be serving a delicious breakfast buffet full of holiday delights. Don’t forget your camera because Santa will be making his rounds. You can let your little ones hop on his lap and tell him all their holiday wishes!

Cost is $16 per adult and $14 per child. Tax and gratuity will be added to all checks.

Get ready for an hour and a half of pure holiday joy! This family-friendly variety show will feature storytelling, music, dance, comedy and inspiration – all hosted by Inspire MEdia Network, the Durham nonprofit that spreads kindness and educates about empathy.
The evening will feature the New Orleans-style band the Bull Town Strutters, the Durham Ukulele Orchestra, a storyteller from The Monti, the Durham Bulls’ Jatovi McDuffie, gospel singer Mary Williams, dancers from Barriskill Dance Theatre School, a cappella singers and much more!

Mitzvah Day @ Jewish Community Center

The Jewish Federation of Durham-Chapel Hill invites you to give back this season with a day celebrating volunteerism, activism and unity, which begins with a community breakfast at the Levin Jewish Community Center and then heads out to projects planned throughout the area, involving organizations such as Blanket Durham, Durham Crisis Response Center, Durham Police Department, Durham Literacy Center and many more.

Hayti Kwanzaa @ St. Joseph's Historic Foundation Hayti Heritage Center

Hayti Kwanzaa kicks off the week-long Kwanzaa festivities in the Triangle. Kwanzaa is a 7-day celebration of family, community, and culture observed from December 26 through January 1. Co-sponsors – Shabutaso Inc. and Hayti Heritage Center – bring the community together under Kwanzaa’s first day and principle – Umoja – Ki-Swahili for Unity. The day-long event opens with a film showing of Kwanzaa documentary film – The Black Candle – and closes with Winston Salem singing sensation, The Healing Force. Parenting, chess, music and dance workshops abound throughout the day for children and elders alike. AAD Ensemble KwanzaaFest @ Durham Amory

Join Baba Chuck Davis and the African American Dance Ensemble on the last day of Kwanzaa-Imani or Faith. Kwanzaa is FREE and open to the public. All donated toiletry items will be given to a local Non-profit and all donated canned foods will be given to CAARE, Inc.

The doors will open at 12pm, Children’s Village to begin at 1pm and the program to begin at 2pm. Shabutaso will be offering a drumming class, there will be face painting, gift bags, prizes and games.
